Greetings from Our Park Superintendent

Dear Tay Valley Ski Club members,

As the ski season gets underway, I wanted to let you know that the staff at Murphys Point Provincial Park is committed to partnering with you to make this another successful ski season.

We will be updating our park website and phone line ski conditions on a regular basis. Since we don’t get out on the trails as often as we would like, we would appreciate any help with this. Give us a call at the office (613-267-5060) to let us know what the conditions are like or if you have any other comments.

New this year, we recently installed new metal signs and maps at each of the ski trail junctions. We also increased the size of the main ski parking lot and we will continue ploughing both parking lots this year. Last year our electronic counters counted roughly 2,000 skiers in a relatively shortened ski season. Let’s hope for a little more snow, a longer season, more skiers and a successful loppet!

Thanks in advance to all club members for supporting what, in our extremely biased opinion, is one of eastern Ontario’s best-kept winter recreation secrets. A special thank you in advance to those of you who will be volunteering extra time to keep club activities going and trails maintained.

See you on the trails!

Curtis Thompson
