JACK ROE RETIRES

CHANGES TO THE TRAIL GROOMERS

Let us lift a cup of gratitude to the great work done by our trail grooming team, Dave Reesor, Jack Roe and Tobi Kiesewalter. We have been fortunate to have enough snow these past few weeks to give them something to work with, and they gave the skiers in our 2011 Tay Valley Loppet the best groomed trails in the country. Just ask the skiers who competed on them !!!

Dave and Jack on the Job

We were struck with a great misfortune on Loppet day when Jack Roe accidently twisted his leg, aggravating an earlier knee surgery, which prompted his doctor to ask what the h— he was playing at anyway! Jack joined our trail grooming team last year and bought with him many years of experience working for the Ottawa Ski Club in Gatineau Park, as well as at the Mount Packenham facility. He will be greatly missed as he heads off to medical retirement, but we are pleased to report that our Club Secretary Brad Mills has stepped forward to add trail grooming to his resume. His contribution will be sincerely appreciated by the grooming team and all who use our trails.
