This morning David Reesor and Lynn McIntyre groomed a new track from the parking lot to the gatehouse.. It took 3 passes of the Ginzu to break up the ice enough to set a track. The result isn’t perfect but it does provide safe access to the internal trails.

All of the skate ski was done and it is perfect!

Some classic was done, but it wasn’t practical to do more. Most parts of the internal loop trails are quite useable for classic skiing. Groomers looked for areas of unpacked snow on the side of the trails, and were able to set several long stretches of perfectly groomed trail including the first part of the loppet route and the trail to the boat launch.

Decent skiing for this weekend!

This grooming closeup provides an image of the difficulty of breaking up the ice.
